Ginger Burrell

Tree is a conceptual piece playing with the interchangeability of trees as paper and books as sculpture.

 

The book is bi-directional and can be viewed from either end. Each direction has a unique set of images featuring trees from bare winter branches to the spring ornament of flowers and the fall bounty of pine cones.

 

The pages can be turned individually or in tandem to create a changeable sculpture of color, image and texture.

 

Tree was chosen for the "Student Works" show at Abecedarian Gallery in Denver in 2009.

 

Original photographs by the artist. Archival inkjet printing on HP Premium Plus photo paper, soft gloss finish. Tree branch with pivot structure. Edition of 10 unique trees, $350.
