Professional info
I've always been a photographer and have been taking photos since I was little. (I have the the cut-off head pictures to prove it. Now, when I cut off a head in a photograph, it is by design.) On my way to becoming an artist I was a teacher, ran a school and ran Human Resource departments for start up companies. A round of layoffs, a class at the San Francisco Center for the Book and a visit to a gallery featuring Artist Books transformed a love for photography into a passion for creating Artist Books.
Now, several years and a degree in Art and Photography later, I find the flexibility of the medium to fit my ideas on a particular topic exciting and endless. Teaching allows me to share my passion, explore new structures and inspire others in the art of book making. My technology background and abilities further fuel both my teaching and my artwork.
